Thorin's Gate is an area within Ered Luin in the north-western region.
This area hosts one of the largest dwarf settlements in Middle-earth and is in itself a centre of activities and features of all sorts. However, most major services are provided within Thorin's Hall and its interiors, hallways, and tunnels.
Thorin's Gate and its landmarks are the Starter Area for new dwarf and elf characters and the introduction quests take place all over this area where Dourhand dwarves have taken up residence in the area. Upon completing the introduction quests, dwarf characters remain within Thorin's Gate while elves travel south, finding themself in the elf-town of Celondim. In present day, Thorin's Gate has been reclaimed by the Longbeards and has been largely returned to its former glory.
Closely bound to this area are Thorin's Hall and its services, the Thorin's Hall Homesteads to the south-west, and Refuge of Edhelion to the east. Centrally located is Frerin's Court and from there runs the main road southward past Vale of Thrain and beyond. Within Frerin's Court stands a Reflecting Pool and west of the courtyard is a good Crafting Hall and a Stable-master.
