The entrance to this quest instance is sealed off and available only during quests, first during the introduction quests for dwarves and elves and later to find Thrór's hammer. Skorgrím's tomb is located in the south-east of Thorin's Gate, having its entrance at the Berghold, nearby Rockbelly Pit.

During the introduction quests this tomb is guarded by Gormr and his party of Dourhands. They have decorated the place in honour of their ancestor, Skorgrím, whose body recently has been moved from its usual place, a mystery which begins to cause disturbance around the Middle-earth.
