The Berghold is a landmark within Thorin's Gate, in Ered Luin. [15.8S, 102.4W]

South-east of Frerin's Court lies the Berghold, a dwarf built hold and storage centre for the mines of the Blue Mountains. The Berghold is mainly known for being the entrance to Skorgrím's Tomb as well as Rockbelly Pit, the latter also being accessible from Winterheight.

Before Durin's Folk reclaimed the lands, the hold was fiercely guarded by Gormr Doursmith and his fellow Dourhands, who wished to resurrect the dwarf-king Skorgrím, having been long dead following the attack on the Refuge of Edhelion.
