The original lineup began as a five piece band, with Owltune (Roadie) filling in for Owlharp after she departured the band. Owltune would go onto become one of the most well-known Lead Violinist in Bree. Owlstar had no desire to learn the Harp, nor the Violin as she focused mainly on her Lute developing her own signature style becoming a renown Lutenist. She convinced her sisters, Owldrum and Owlbass to join the band, combining Drums with Tractor Bass to establish the foundation for the heavy owl sound. Weeks later, Owlsong joined the band agreeing to become the lead vocalist and embraced her new role as leader of the band. Life was not easy for the band when they left The Shire for Bree. They lived in the bad part of Town playing street corners just to make a living. Owlstar even had her Lute stolen and the band barely survived. It's not easy for five Hungry Hobbits to share a single pie every night. They've paid their dues and eventually their luck changed.
They got their first gig working for Barliman Butterbur the owner of The Prancing Pony in Bree as the house band. Not only did they get paid; They was well-fed and had a place to stay. They refined their sound getting very serious about music. Travelers from all over Middle-earth would come just to see them perform. It opened many doors for the band, especially the main door when a drunk patron got into a fight with Owlsong after a show. The band was dragged off to the Bree-town Jail, that placed Owlsong, Owlstar, Owlbass and Owldrum behind bars. Owltune would be caught an hour later trying to help them escape. After they was released three days later, the band was let go from all obligations to the Pony forcing them back onto the streets in the bad part of Town. With no money and no place to go, Owlsong was forced by the other members of the band to send word back home to The Shire. She explained in a letter everything that happen and her other sisters arrived the next morning establishing The Owl Gang. A band of Wild Hobbit Outlaws who sought justice. The Notorious Fydylstyks Family.
The Mysterious Owls
After being Wanted: Dead or Alive by the law, the band had another problem. How would they ever play another live show without being seen? Despite all the suffering they endured while not being poor anymore, The Owl Gang created a real mess for the band. It wasn't until younger sister Owltank Fydylstyks moved to Bree, that the band came up with a solution to the problem. Owltank an accomplished tailor created outfits for them to wear on stage, concealing their true identities. It wasn't just any outfit, it was dubbed "The Owlfit."
The band was back in business. They went on to play many successful shows during that time. And in the spring of 2022, the band asked Owlharp Fiddlesticks to rejoin the band. She would bring her three sisters Owlbell Fiddlesticks, Owlbeat Fiddlesticks, and Owlhorn Fiddlesticks from The Shire with her to seize this golden opportunity. The band was transformed into a legitimate rock act.
The Mysterious Owls started getting bigger crowds at every show, creating a buzz across Middle-earth. An enigma to the music scene. They soon had people asking, "Who is this band?" "Where do they come from?" It's a band who doesn't seek fortune and fame. It's a band just about the music. It's a band that finally made it to the top. They were signed to Owl Records on June 22, 2022.

Owlharp Fiddlesticks
Owlharp Fiddlesticks (May 05, 2017) was born in Hobbiton, The Shire.
The original founding member of The Midnight Owl Band. She asked her sisters Owlstar, Owlbass, and Owldrum Fiddlesticks to join the band. The group was established by Owlharp on October 09, 2017. She had no previous experience managing a band, but had a strong influence on the group's attitude and musicial direction, saying: "We're just trying to make some noise. The words are irrelevant." Owlharp was forced to leave the band October 18, 2017, but eventually reunited with the group on April 20, 2022. Owlharp plays multiple instruments and loves to tickle the strings.
Owltune Fiddlesticks
Owltune Fiddlesticks (October 01, 2017) was born in Hobbiton, The Shire.
Owltune is one of the all-too-often anonymous Lute techs, a profession that is done best when nobody in a gigantic audience realizes she exists. It’s a path marked by insane hours, lots of manual labor and constant, tedious re-stringing. That all ended when Owlstar asked her to join the band after Owlharp's departure. She quickly established the band as a popular live act with her aggressive fiddle skills. Some claim she plays so fast that her strings catch fire. She became the full-time Lead Violinist on October 19th, 2017. Owltune is known as the "Bad Angel."
Owlbass Fiddlesticks
Owlbass Fiddlesticks (October 01, 2017) was born in Hobbiton, The Shire.
She has been heralded for the raw power and deep soulful groove of the band. A sonic beast known as “Tractor” Bass. The Tractor Bass is a highly modified Theorbo with a sublime tone. “It's extremely difficult to control but amazingly fun.” Owlbass said. “It can rattle every bone in your body!” It is wildly powerful with all the different combinations and it is the only instrument that can carry and cut through a huge band that has so many instruments, and two drummers and a Bardic Fiddle! You can easily find yourself way off in deep mud with that thing. No fret though, it’s a Tractor!
Owldrum Fiddlesticks
Owldrum Fiddlesticks (October 01, 2017) was born in Hobbiton, The Shire.
Owldrum's style of playing is considered unique by her bandmates, although they sometimes find her unconventional playing frustrating. Owlbass noted that she tends to play faster or slower according to her mood, and just instinctively puts drum fills in places that other people would never have thought of putting them. She is known for her hard-hitting rock style, that has influenced numerous drummers across Middle-earth. She got started at a very young age practicing on pumpkins in The Shire which got her in quite the pickle with the local farmers.
Owlsong Fiddlesticks
Owlsong Fiddlesticks (October 19, 2017) was born in Hobbiton, The Shire.
She is characterised by the rebellious nature and acerbic wit in her music, lyrics, and song writing. On October 17, 2022, Owlsong commented about her family and her rebellious nature: "It was tough for us growing up, we just want some respect." After Hobbiton authorities threatened to charge her as a habitual criminal, Owlsong moved to Bree, Bree-land and was asked to join the band. Under her charismatic leadership the band thrived eventually building a devoted fan following. As a Minstrel, Owlsong has mastered a plethora of musical instruments.
Owlbeat Fiddlesticks
Owlbeat Fiddlesticks (August 21, 2021) was born in Frogmorton, The Shire.
Owlbeat is widely known as an aggressive hard rock drummer. She joined the band on April 20, 2022. Her drumming style has been praised as "astonishingly innovative", and renowned for its technical proficiency, and her live performances for their exacting nature and stamina. She has been considerably influential due to both the popularity of her band, as well as her drum techniques. Owlbeat adopted a less focused and simplified style of drumming creating the lightning to Owldrum's thunder. She's also a professional Bongo player and Flutist.
Owlbell Fiddlesticks
Owlbell Fiddlesticks (October 01, 2017) was born in Hobbiton, The Shire.
She began her musical career when her mother Bonnie Fiddlesticks first introduced her to the Cowbell and she began taking Cowbell Lessons. In her teenage years, Owlbell developed an interest for the Theorbo. Being heavily influenced by her twin sister Owlbass to play more, she began songwriting and her abilities started to grow. She received an invitation to join the band April 20, 2022. With her chromatic sound combined with tractor bass that her sister provides, it creates a melodic experience, something Owlbell considers fundamental to the band.
Owlstar Fiddlesticks
Owlstar Fiddlesticks (October 01, 2017) was born in Hobbiton, The Shire.
Owlstar is a self-taught Lute Virtuoso and co-leader of The Midnight Owl Band. She began playing at a very young age practicing no less then six hours a day. She began learning intricate scale patterns while developing her own signature style that propelled her into the spotlight as the Most Famous Lute player in all Middle-earth. Her varied style involves various alternative Lute tunings, technical, and melodic solos coupled with arpeggios that fade into soft descending tones. She works full-time ensuring the excellence of the band. Owlstar is known as the "Good Angel."
Owlhorn Fiddlesticks
Owlhorn Fiddlesticks (August 21, 2021) was born in Frogmorton, The Shire.
She's an influential musician and skillful improviser, bending the backup vocals and the melody of a song. Owlhorn joined the band on April 20, 2022 and instantly had a foundational influence on the band, shifting the focus of the music from collective improvisation to solo performance. The other members were affected by her emotional style which gave her instant recognition as a valuable member of the band. Owlhorn enhances the music through her mastery of counterpoint, harmonic, and motivic organization. Some have even claimed, she howls into her wind instruments.
The Middle-Earth World Tour
The Midnight Owl Band World Tour is finally happening and it's set to take place in 2023. Owlsong Fiddlesticks made the surprise announcement at The Friday Night Jam on the Brandywine server November 11, 2022. The band will play each Saturday night at one of the 40 taverns across Middle-earth. "The Tavern Tour" is expected to last nine months.

The Midnight Owl Band currently play across five servers: Brandywine, Crickhollow, Landroval[EN-RE], Sirannon[FR], and Gwaihir[DE]. Past festival appearances include: Weatherstock, Winterstock, Shirefest, Winter Solstice, Summerfest, Pumpkin Jam, Hearts A'Fyre, Spring Fling, Champagne Bash, The Celtic Festival, and Ales & Tales.
The Midnight Owl Band hosts The Friday Night Jam™ (West Bree) 8pm EST (Gametime) every Friday Night on the Brandywine Server.
