Kurdushâlak is in Clovengap in Gundabad. [40.0S, 121.1W]
The river of Kurdushâlak runs through the centre of Clovengap, feeding the Ladder-gardens and vineyards of Gundabad. The river north of [36.3S, 122.3W] has been frozen over by the passage of Hrímil Frost-heart, including the waterfall of Amgaruslun that feeds Kurdushâlak (one waterfall of several that join Kurdushâlak). The river flows south into Durthuzâram, the Dark Lake, and thence into the deepst parts of the Deepscrave before it flows underground entirely. It is unclear if the river also feeds into the Dvergvát in Elderslade from its underground course.
Kurdushâlak is Khuzdul for Heartwater (kurdu = heart, shâlak = water).

-
The source of the Kurdushâlak lies beyond Amgaruslun, the frozen waterfall outside the Hiddenhoard of Abnankâra.
-
The river itself is also frozen from the cold emanating from Hrímil Frost-heart's lair.
-
Beyond another frozen fall lies the grand structures of the Clovengap, lining the giant cave's walls.
-
A third waterfall is beyond the reach of the ice dragon, and here the river flows freely.
-
The dwarves have built their structures to preserve the presence of the sacred river, with stairs accessing the water directly.
-
Giant statues holding crystal lanterns adorn the edges of the walls while ancient promenades and gardens offer terraced views above.
-
The river passes through the very center of the Clovengap, catching light from the open sky above.
-
The Kurdushâlak then passes beyond the gap, into the Gloomingtarn.
-
In the whole of the Gloomingtarn, the river's water becomes part of Durthuzâram, the Dark Lake.
-
The most sacred site in all the Dwarven realms, Abkân'aban, the Stone of Wakening lies on an island in the Dark Lake.
-
At the south end of the lake, the water runs into two tunnels.
-
The water then spills off into two parallell waterfalls driving water wheels in the Deepscrave.
-
The thunderous roar of the falls echo through the deepest parts of Gundabad.
-
The river is the joined by another side river coming from the northeast, and flows south through Vatug-ronk, the Groaning Pit.
-
The Kurdushâlak finally slips underground in the south end of the Deepscrave. It is unknown where it eventually surfaces again.
