Gaelos (River)

The river Gaelos is a lesser tributary of the Anduin, flowing from the Moon-land Falls in the Emyn Arnen past Bâr Húrin and entering the Great River opposite the Rammas Echor, near Minas Tirith.

At the Moon-land Falls, the Gaelos begins its flow, coming from the hills of the Emyn Arnen.
Passing through a serene pond, the Gaelos turns west-wards, into a large ravine.
The ruins of Bâr Húrin tower above. Here, the Rangers of Ithilien keep a hidden watch.
Streaming into the steep ravine, the Gaelos accelerates its flow.
Crashing down a waterfall, the Gaelos moves through the crevasse south of Bâr Húrin.
Mossy overgrown walls can be seen on either side of the ravine as the Gaelos continues to the west.
Another waterfall takes the waters of the Gaelos further westwards.
The Gaelos approaches the Ithiliant bridge, where yet another waterfall awaits.
Deep beneath the bridge's mighty pillars, the Gaelos plunges towards the Anduin.
Finally, the waters of the Gaelos merge with the mighty Great River across the Pelennor Fields.
Looking back towards the Ithiliant from the Anduin, the final waterfall of the Gaelos shimmers in the sunlight.
