The Bruinen river is also known as the "Loudwater", a direct translation of its Sindarin name. The Bruinen arises in the Misty Mountains, flows through Rivendell, and down south through the Trollshaws, forming part of the northern border of Eregion. It eventually joins with the Hoarwell, from where the large joined river is known as the Greyflood.
The Bruinen plummets from the Misty Mountain to Imladris far below.
The river rushes through Rivendell at great speeds.
The Bruinen goes on pass the ford to the High Moor, its speed slowing down as the terrain flattens out.
The Bruinen continues down the gorges of the Trollshaws, heading towards the Angle of Mitheithel.
The river passes Tâl Bruinen, where a side river sweels the waterways.
Further down the gorge, to more side rivers feed into the Bruinen, as the gorge rises to its maximum height.
At last, the Bruinen merges into the Mitheithel river at the tip of the Angle, before heading south towards the ocean.
