Ciril

The Ciril (Cut River) is counted as third of the "Seven Rivers of Gondor" (though Gondor in truth has many more than seven rivers).
It arises in an isolated peak south of the White Mountains in the north of the Gondorian region of Lamedon, and flows south past the city of Calembel until it meets the river Ringló, and as part of that river flows towards Cobas Haven.
On 9 March T.A. 3019 Aragorn led Gimli, Legolas, the Grey Company, and the Oathbreakers across the Ciril on the way to Pelargir.

Like almost all other Gondorian rivers, the Ciril pours from the White Mountains in a series of waterfalls.
-
The river then feeds into a marsland known as Tathrendalf, where corsairs have set up a camp.
-
Beyond the marsh, the river heads towards the Lamedon farmlands.
-
Joined by several smaller tributaries, the Ciril provides water to several settlements.
-
The river passes beneath the city of Calembel and wends its way under several bridges.
-
Its last bend puts it in view of the beacon Maegond before it hits its last waterfall.

In the lower reaches of Lamedon, the Ciril joins the longer Ringló on its way west towards Cobas Haven.
