Deeping-stream
The Deeping-stream is a river in Rohan. It rises in the gorge of the White Mountains known as Helm's Deep. It flows through a culvert in the wall that guards that refuge of the Rohirrim, and then around the feet of the rock where the Hornburg stood, before beginning its journey into the wide lands of Rohan.

The source of the Deeping-stream is in the Glittering Caves, with numerous waterfalls pouring down from the White Mountains.
-
The waterways collect and flow north out of the caves into Helm's Deep, past a guarded barricade.
-
After a short drop, the river splits into two streams which rejoin shortly after. A bridge within Helm's Deep marks the river's first crossing.
-
Shortly after, the river flows through the Hornburg through a culvert. The fortress also works as the second crossing of the stream.
-
The culvert plays a critical role in the battle for Helm's Deep as the fort's biggest weak point.
-
The ramp coming down from the Hornburg is the third crossing of the river.
-
From there, the river continues north across the Deeping-coomb.
-
The river then passes beneath the Helm's Dike, the fort's outer perimeter defense wall and the fourth crossing of the river.

The Deeping-stream then flows into the Swiftwater coming in from the south.
