In ancient times it was the place where the leaders of the dwarves had their great moots. It is therefore a place of great historical significance for the Dwarves. Each Dwarrowmoot is marked with an engraved pillar around the circle of the Thing-fold. Six such moots have been held so far, the first in the days of the Seven Fathers of the Dwarves and the sixth during the Sixth War of Dwarves and Orcs.
