On the southeastern shore of the Dark Lake, the ancient lodes of Ormgren have lain undisturbed for many years. Since the wards of Gloomingtarn were breached, however, some of the native glow-worms have been stirred into a frenzy.

Lore

Although nearly no evidence remains of its once-rich deposits, Ormgren was among the first lodes delved by Durin the Deathless after he awoke in Mount Gundabad. For many years after Gloomingtarn was sealed, glow-worms were the only inhabitants of the old tunnels, but since the arrival of the Angmarim many of their kind have grown unusually aggressive and territorial. However, others have merely withdrawn deeper into Ormgren, casting their pale light into long-forgotten chambers of Mount Gundabad.
