The Snares is a landmark within Kingsfell, in North Downs. [11.3S, 42.7W]
In a hollow between some hillocks and at the foot of the Kingsfell mountains is a spider den, guarded by dense webs as well as vicious spiders. From here they are prowling for unaware travelers at the nearby Meluinen – Othrikar road.
