Location

The Dagor Carlanthir (Sindarin for Battle of the Red Waterfall) or Sabûdamar (Shagâni for Red-rush Battle) takes place before the doors of Utug-bûr in Urash Dâr, in the Valley of Ikorbân. The battlefield becomes accessible after Chapter 13.4: A Greater Power. Travel between the battlefield and Ilzag Khûl to the south is through the banners labeled Return to Ilzag Khûl near Gandalf on the battlefield and To the Dagor Carlanthir from the camp of Ilzag Khûl.

The allied forces of Shagâna, including the Dumûri of Ambarûl and the Kintai of the oases, fight to keep the ancient Thardúth trapped within the temple of Utug-bûr, reinforced later by forces from Umbar Baharbêl.
