Description
Girhâzi is the chieftain of the Ambarûli people, fiercely protective of her kin and resolute in their defense. A respected and formidable leader, she guides her people through the aftermath of occupation and upheaval. Her daughter, Rahâzi, stands beside her, sharing in her resolve to preserve their way of life.
Girhâzi was born Shêgudam, a crop-wife of Iridír, wife to Ukhâx and mother to Tâlax, Nalâl, and Rahâzi. As a child, she secretly learned letters and fragments of the Old Ways from the scholar Amâsu, an act punishable by death under the Church of the All-seeing. She is the great-granddaughter of Urhâzi, a famed rebel who defied the Church and the Ordâkhai and whose axe later passed to Girhâzi. During the occupation, Ordâkhai forces seized the able men of the farms and marched them north, including Girhâzi's husband and sons.
After news arrived of the fall of Sauron and the Ordâkhai emperor, Girhâzi led the women of Iridír in revolt. They burned the local temple and drove most Ordâkhai forces south of the river, forming the Dumûri. In the aftermath, Girhâzi learned that her husband and sons had died in the north. Accepting leadership out of necessity, Girhâzi became chieftain of the Ambarûli, the first in centuries, determined to protect her people from any future would-be rulers.
