Brighten up your screenshots and other information

  1. Images should be jpeg, not png. File:Tunic and Trousers of New Bloom.png
  2. see: Help:Images for
  1. To get screenshots which are not so dark"
  1. Take them during the daylight hours in-game!
  2. Mouse over the target. It will be illuminated and the cursor will not show in the screen-shot.
  3. Your in-game lantern (F10) can also help illuminate the scene under certain conditions.

While you are perfectly right about your information, you should consider motivational questions. Ask yourself: If you only very seldom participate in the work of a wiki, what reaction do you expect? At first a „thank you“, and then, if necessary, any hints for better work. Leaving that „thank you“, all information has the meaning „you are not helpful, go away“. --QNo (talk) 16:33, 13 June 2015 (UTC)
Hi QNo, thanks for your contributions! This wiki can never have enough editors it seems, too many additions and updates to keep up with! :) I don't think Magill intended to make you feel that way. (I read it as a "FYI" note, but that's the thing with written communication; we lose tone and expression, leading to multiple interpretations.) I refer to the help pages, templates, boilerplates, etc. as how-to references and to strive for consistency (like Wikipedia's Manual of Style). -Laineth (talk) 17:57, 20 June 2015 (UTC)

Great work on those festival items!

Hey QNo!

I wanted to thank you on for your contributions on the topic of the Summer Festival of late. I've been patrolling your edits and they all look great! I wanted to ask if you happened to have the corresponding icons for the cosmetic items you've added lately. If so, could you upload them too? Thanks a lot in advance! --Freepy (talk) 11:35, 27 July 2015 (UTC)

Hi. If he doesn't have them, I can upload them (I have all icons in my Database, generated from Items IDs, or extractable from my FTP site (Surcoat of Nárië(1879326023) , Hooded Cloak of Nárië (1879326026), etc...)
Castorix (talk) 11:49, 27 July 2015 (UTC)
Hi Castorix, i just add screenshot-icons. If you have those icons in better quality, feel free to replace my version :-) --QNo (talk) 19:28, 28 July 2015 (UTC)
Hi. Your icons are perfect. It is difficult to have better quality for icons :-) --Castorix (talk) 20:14, 28 July 2015 (UTC)
I didn’t get the Pony of Narie-icon.png right. If you have it in your database: could you replace it? --QNo (talk) 09:28, 30 July 2015 (UTC)
Ah, no, because it is not stored in the DB. Only the main icon for "Steed of Nárië" is stored. --Castorix (talk) 11:27, 1 August 2015 (UTC)

Armour Gallery

I like to have my Characters properly dressed up. For cosmetic items, there are Galleries, but not for crafted armour – and seldom for dropped armour. Even the Mithril Cosmetics are not all listed. So i started today with a Pic of a Rough Cloth Armour (btw: how can i link to an Image without displaying it?) and added a Gallery to Light_Armour_(Level_1-20)_Index. If you want to contribute: Be welcome :-) If you object: Please discuss before removing. --QNo (talk) 10:43, 1 August 2015 (UTC)

I generated all cosmetics for my LID app but there are too many (dozens of thousands...) to be displayed on Wiki.
I stored them in a Cloud Storage and I read them from their ID with the LID app.
--Castorix (talk) 11:34, 1 August 2015 (UTC)
Hey QNo, I like the idea of this project...but to be honest I think your work could be better used elsewhere. The reasoning behind this opinion is that I don't think that there are many people searching the wiki for images of these generic armour sets. Even if they did, they could just find the respective items in-game and cosmetically equip it in the review mode in which you have made these pictures. Have a look at Projects if you're looking for something big to do.
I'm not trying to discourage you, just giving you a tip. If you really want to continue this idea, feel free to do so. In any case, it'll make the wiki feel more complete. --Freepy (talk) 13:19, 1 August 2015 (UTC)

Crafting Guidelines/Tables for article namespace?

I created from my private notices User:QNo/Crafting Tables. Is that of any interest for someone else? Should it be moved to article namespace? --QNo (talk) 22:09, 20 August 2015 (UTC)

Nice collection of information!
I would say, integrate it into the Crafting article. I stuck your profession by vocation table there already.
BTW: There will be a Tier 10 introduced with Update 17, probably in another couple of weeks on Bullroarer, once the dust settles on World Transfers.
Wm Magill - Valamar - OTG/OTC - talk 01:30, 22 August 2015 (UTC)
As I'm looking at the Crafting article, I note that it has not kept up with changes in the game.
  1. All professions now have a "processing" option.
  2. There is no only one kind of "Workbench or Forge" - all are Superior -- you should see the two icons for any facility.
  3. Most (all?) Scholar recipes now do not require ANY crafting facility.
There are probably other items as well, but those are the ones I noticed immediately.
Wm Magill - Valamar - OTG/OTC - talk 01:37, 22 August 2015 (UTC)
I should add -- many people do not notice that Thorin's Hall has TWO crafting ares -- a new one in the building across from the Eyes and Guard tavern entrance (only visible on Bullroarer) near the stable master. And the "old one" - the Hall of Making - inside Thorins itself.
Wm Magill - Valamar - OTG/OTC - talk 01:39, 22 August 2015 (UTC)
That „new“ crafting area is not new. I know it since i started more than two years ago, and i never played on Bullroarer. Scholar Recipes Tier 4 and higher require a Superior Study. And every Study i visited today is a Superior Study.--QNo (talk) 12:42, 25 August 2015 (UTC)
What Patch promoted all Crafting Facilities to Superior? Could not find a hint in the Release Notes. --QNo (talk) 14:31, 25 August 2015 (UTC)
Back when the Dev ScaryCrow did the rework of Bree -- mostly upgrading Bree to the new Rohan style graphics, so it was post Riders of Rohan. As I recall, there was never an official announcement, but there was at least one thread where he visited routinely and we discussed all of the crafter's desires to have "consolidated" crafting and how neat Galtrev was as the FIRST location where all crafting, guild and vault were together and the AH next door. When he added the Crafting Area to South Bree, is when the difference between the plain and superior "forge/workbench/study" was eliminated. As I recall, he did all that as an "extra project" (or whatever Turbine calls those things outside of normal assigned work). Since that re-make, all of the subsequent crafting areas have included Guild access and the one-level workspaces. I'll look through my notes to see if I have anything more definitive.
Wm Magill - Valamar - OTG/OTC - talk 17:36, 25 August 2015 (UTC)
I note that there is/was an DevDiary from August of 2012 - Riders of Rohan Developer Diary: Eastemnet Crafting - which got "lost" when the Forums were upgraded. Might have been mentioned in that, but it's no longer available on-line.
Wm Magill - Valamar - OTG/OTC - talk 17:36, 25 August 2015 (UTC)
This developer diary can be found in Web archives : it is the same as : https://www.lotro.com/en/content/riders-rohan-developer-diary-eastemnet-crafting --Castorix (talk) 13:10, 26 August 2015 (UTC)

No more regular crafting facilities – how to proceed?

There are only superior facilities. In the next days, i intend to move the locations of the former regular facilities to the resp. superior facility pages. The regular facility pages will be replaced by a redirect to the superior facility pages. Is that agreed, or are there other plans? --QNo (talk) 20:40, 30 August 2015 (UTC)

No plans that I know of.
You might want to make a comment about the fact that in-game you get Icons displaying under your portrait for BOTH types of facility when you approach one.

Being Ninja and Editor, i should be able to patrol recent changes. But it seems i cannot anymore. Did the patrolling system change? Did i get a block for patrolling (don't know why i should, but you never know :-) )--QNo (talk) 10:20, 17 December 2018 (UTC)

Indexing question

Sorry for the delay. Been fighting the flu -- I answered you over on my talk page. Hope it is intelligible. Wm Magill - Valamar - OTG/OTC - talk 02:44, 25 February 2017 (UTC)

Editing item indexes

Please be careful when editing item indexes that you don't change the format of the page or remove any existing information from the tables. Instead just add in additional rows in the tables that are already there. See Two-handed Clubs (Level 41-60) Index for an example of what I mean (compare current edit to your last edit). Thanks, --Gaerlin (talk) 09:04, 13 December 2018 (UTC)

Oops. Sorry. Copypaste without attention. --QNo (talk) 18:39, 13 December 2018 (UTC)
