Description

The caverns of the Pit of Stonejawsis an area within Mount Gundabad. These pits and tunnels are filled with glittering stalagmites and stalactites and pale flowstone falls. The center of the Pit is dominated by the fortress of Shakhajât, long the seat of power of the orcs of Gundabad and their chieftains like Bolg but now taken by the Frost-bound hobgoblins under Warlord Dushtalbúk and loyal to the Frost-horde. The western side of the Pit holds ancient tombs of the lords of Gundabad, the greatest of them at Adkhât-zahhar, the Houses of Rest. The far northern reach of the Pit holds the Witch-gate, a reminder of when the power of Angmar once reached this side of the Misty Mountains opening into the Sorrowglen.
