Bolg of the North (Black Speech and Orkish for Strong) was the son of Azog, and brother of Urro One-hand and Komog. His sons were Mazog and Gorgar the Ruthless.
Though he proved cowardly in the Sixth War of Dwarves and Orcs and fled battle more than once, Bolg survived the war, and his sons went on to continue to trouble the dwarves. Bolg ruled Gundabad from the fortress of Shakhajât in the Pit of Stonejaws. It was Bolg who led the Orcs against Erebor in the Battle of Five Armies, and it was there he finally fell.
