Prince Durin (Northern for King) Stonehelmson, son of King Thorin III Stonehelm, is the current heir to the throne of Durin's Folk. Since his great-grandfather Náin Orcsfoe is one of the Marasrân, Durin is counted among the Kharum-ubnâr.

During the Jangovar invasion and the events of the War of the Ring, he remained safely, albeit against his will, in Járnfast under the protection of Lord Náin the Slakeless. He later journeys into the Grey Mountains, staying for a time at Skarháld. After a visit to the Anvil of Winterstith, he leads the Gabil'akkâ to reclaim Mount Gundabad and can be found at Annâk-khurfu on the second level before the War of Three Peaks begins, and at Zarkul-sulûn afterwards, before finally moving into Gundabad.

Durin travels on to Elderslade, where he can be found on the upper level, the War Room, in Annâk-khurfu, leading the combined forces of the Dwarves.
