Location

Díngarth (Sindarin for Silent-fort) was a settlement located within the area of Arandor in Mordor Besieged in the year 3440 of the Second Age. ^{[97.5S, 131.4W]}

It was the first encampment the Great Alliance constructed after they pushed through the ruins of the Black Gate, seven years earlier. It was repeatedly assailed by the forces of Sauron, and rebuilt anew following the worst of the assaults. Díngarth was the most secure location of the Free Peoples, but near the end of the siege it was mostly emptied, kept as a last redoubt in the event that the foreward forces of the Alliance were overwhelmed and forced to retreat.
