Barad-dûr is the exterior of the fortress of Sauron in the east of Emyn Duir, in Mordor Besieged. ^{[96.8S, 114.2W]}

This landmark is encountered during the Siege of Barad-dûr by the Great Alliance in the contested area between the forces of the Alliance and Sauron. The fortress cannot be entered from this location. Only the approaches and the bridge can be traversed. The ravine of Angathrai is below.
