Dol Ernil

Dol Ernil (Sindarin for Hill of the Prince) is a landmark within Tyrn Gorthad, in Cardolan. [40.0S, 50.7W]

Dol Ernil was once the seat of the last princes of Cardolan, beginning with Amondir, who was Lord of Tyrn Gorthad and Keeper of the Barrows at the time of King Artandil's death. The old fortress crawls with the Dead after the passing of the Witch-king of Angmar.

Beneath the old throne room, accessed by means of a trapdoor, lie the sprawling Catacombs of Dol Ernil. [39.5S, 50.6W]

Located under a gazebo in the centre of the courtyard outside the throne room is a statue of Luilloth, Princess-regent of Cardolan, and her trusty canine, Astoryn. [39.9S, 50.6W]
