Description
Artandil was king of Cardolan four hundred years after the rule of Tarondor II. During Artandil's reign, King Malgun I of Rhudaur marched into Cardolan. The gates of Caranost, ruling-seat of the kings of Cardolan, were broken and most of the royal family were slain. Artandil pursued the host of Rhudaur and caught them at the hill now known as Amon Firn, the Deadmount. There Artandil and Malgun both fell, killing each other in battle. Rule of Cardolan passed to Amondir, Lord of Tyrn Gorthad.
