Dock-master

Description

The Dock-master is a class of Non-player Character. Dock-masters are found around rivers and lakes in some places. Players are swiftly travelled between jetties by boat or ferry. They are a variant of Stable-masters but only for trips over water.

To be able to take a boat to a location, you must already have talked with the Dock-master at the destination location to discover (activate) that location for future travel. Undiscovered Dock-masters have glowing blue icons. You may be able to pay a Mithril Coin to unlock an "undiscovered" route. (Note that this discovery requirement also applies to the various Writs of Special Passage available in the Lotro Store).

Swift Travel

• All boat travel is by Swift travel.
• This means a character cannot leave the boat part way through the trip as can be done on a mount.

Landlocked Dock-master

The Landlocked Dock-master is a housing services NPC that can be purchased and placed in the yard of a personal or kinship house. It can provide transport to the following destinations:

Note that some of the destinations do not have a dockmaster at the far end to 'discover', and can only be unlocked by payment of a Mithril Coin. Some may require VIP or Premium status to use.
