Bâr Nírnaeth is a landmark within Thuringwath, in the Morgul Vale.

It was at Bâr Nírnaeth, the Houses of Lamentation, where the Nazgûl worshipped their master Sauron. Many were the dark and profane rituals that were conducted here in his name, and the mark of those terrible evils remain still upon every one of their buildings and courtyards.

The Houses of Lamentation have lain hidden within the valley of Thuringwath since the first conquest of Minas Ithil at the end of the Second Age. The approach is guarded by the fortress of Ufurok and the bridge of Laugdursh. Bâr Nírnaeth is the domain of Agath-kali, the Gaunt-woman, and her acolytes and is home to Morloth, the Dark Tree.
