Walkthrough & Notes

Typically only 3 barrels are present on the upper level. Sometimes only 2. Most mobs in the mission are either Archer (ranged) or Outlaw (melee). The stationary groups tend to be 1 of each type, whereas the patrolling mobs are usually alone, and can be either type. Depending on Delving tier, there may be up to 3 Captains, which are stronger than the Archers and Outlaws: one on the lower level, near the beginning of the mission, one near the bottom of the stairs, and one on the upper level. They patrol a much shorter route than the other mob types. Note that the objective is to destroy the barrels; killing mobs has no bearing on the advancement of the quest, and is only necessary to the extent that this opens up access to the barrels. The Captain on the upper level may be -- depending on Delving tier -- within aggro range of 1 or more barrels, but if that mob can be CC'ed/distracted/rooted/kited/etc., the barrels can be destroyed without engaging that mob; then the only necessity is to drop down to the Scout and exit.

Quest Text

Bestowal Dialogue Remember <name>, the goal is to destroy the festering and foetid food that the brigands are hoarding, but thinning their number is an added benefit.' Background Locate and destroy the rotting food stores held by the brigands in Gaervarad. Brigands in Gaervarad stockpile their wares in open contgainers without properly curing or cooking the food before storing. This practice will lead to disease if it is not halted. While dealing with the brigand's unsafe food storage practices, you'll also be able to cull their number down as an added benefit. Objective 1 Destroy unsecured food barrels (0/12) Objective 2 Find the Scout Objective 3 Return to the mission giver and tell them of your success After entering the ruins, dispatching a number of enemies, and destroying a good number of the rotting barrels of food, you should return to the mission giver and tell them of your success. Scout: 'This is not the way that Men should live. Glad to know that you are here to help. Let us return to our settlement.'
