Citadel of Night
The Citadel of Night is a landmark within Minas Morgul, in the Morgul Vale.
This is the highest level and castle of the fortress of Minas Morgul. Standing above the Circle of Death, the Citadel of Night is the seat of Gothmog following the War of the Ring, fortified with stone and sorcery against all trespassers. The pinnacle of the Citadel is Barad Cúron, the Tower of the Crescent Moon, where once sat the throne of Isildur in Minas Ithil. Nearby are the Guarded and Joyous Courts, and across the square is Uialrond, the Dome of Evening.
