Introduction

Update 41 introduces a second crafting event. The new event is a community effort involving the professions of prospecting and cooking. Unlike the initial forester event, the Hard Tack of Thorin's Hall event is cooperative. Additionally, it can be entered and completed by crafters and non-crafters alike.

The event occurs every hour with an access point in Thorin's Gates outside of Thorin's Hall. Five minutes before the event begins, there should be a general broadcast to Ered Luin that the event is about to begin. Any player may enter the event space and take part. The event lasts for 20 minutes.

  • Prospectors participate by speaking with the prospecting coordinator, accepting the main prospecting quest, and completing the various supplemental quests supporting the event.
Prospectors take great care to extract and haul the ever-burning ore to mine carts located throughout the space.
  • Cooks, likewise, speak with the cook coordinator, accept the main cook quest, and complete the various supplemental quests supporting the event.
Cooks make food decreasing induction times, increasing speed, and increasing the speed while carrying heavy items.
  • Any non-cook or non-prospector serves a support role in the event, delivering materials, and keeping away hungry hobbits and sluggard miners who would otherwise disrupt the event. Participating as a non-related crafter rewards participation ribbons for each stage of effort your achieve in the event.
Non-cooks and non-prospectors deliver extracted ore or collect and deliver foodstuff to the cooks.
