General Raid Preparation
- Most of the damage in this fight is Acid which is Tactical Damage. Therefore characters should focus on increasing their Tactical Mitigation as much as possible (preferably at maximum), which can be accomplished with gear, Virtues such as Fidelity, Tolerance, and Honour, and with Scrolls of Supreme Warding Lore.
- Cooked Food, Fortifying Food, and Trail Food all provide beneficial buffs to in-Combat Morale/Power Regen, Resistance Rating, and other stats.
- Because of the high amount of raid-wide damage in this fight, all characters should bring a variety of Morale potions.

PreparationTwo tanks are required for this raid for boss positioning and to tank swap his tiering DOT. The raid should also include two or more healers (since there is a lot of raid-wide outgoing damage throughout the fight) and a lot of DPS, since the quicker Nornúan is defeated the easier the fight is. Support classes that increase incoming damage to Nornúan are also very helpful.Starting the FightWhile Nornúan is pathing around the main room, the raid should group up outside the gate to the room. Once the encounter starts, everyone will be in combat and the gate will close after about ten seconds. Therefore the entire raid should run in together to avoid anyone getting locked out. Once the gate is closed, the fight cannot be reset without all raid members being defeated. Alternately, one raid member can run into the room and quickly run out as soon as they get in combat but before the gate closes. This will cause Nornúan to reset and despawn for one minute, giving the raid time to enter the room and position themselves appropriately before he respawns. Nornúan has frontal AOE attacks, so the tank should turn him around so he is facing away from the rest of the raid. Fighting NornúanThis entire fight is in essence one long burn phase. Nornúan has two abilities which damage the tank and the entire raid and tier up over time, and the higher they tier up, the harder it will be to defeat Nornúan without wiping.
Once the Gushing Wound DOT has tiered up to tier 3 or 4, everyone in the raid will be taking significant damage, and therefore all raid members should use defensive cooldowns as needed to ease the burden on the healers. Also since this is a long fight, Power management will be crucial and characters may need to use Power-granting skills or Power potions. |
