Hello, Egarthur, and welcome to Lotro-Wiki, the Lord of the Rings Online wiki! Thank you for your contributions, and we heartily encourage you to keep it up! Some useful pointers:

New Pages
FYI - for new pages we prefer everyone to put something in the Summary box before clicking Save. It can be anything - I put "new page!" but really even a letter. If this doesn't happen recent changes shows all the code and it prevents more from showing up on one page (of the recent changes). THanks much! Rogue4ever (talk) 23:38, 6 December 2023 (UTC)
Countdown
The countdown timer on this page is very misleading. It counts down to the quest-reset time (3am servertime), whereas I think most people consulting that table would expect it to reflect the instance-changeover time (10am Monday).
Having said that, I don't know how to change this, since the timer logic seems to be embedded in the "wikitable" class, about which, I am frankly clueless.
So a) _should_ it be changed?, b) *how* can it be changed? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Egarthur (Contribs • User Talk).
- Welcome to the wiki editing, came here to say hello, saw this comment, it was probably supposed to be on some page 'talk page', i am not sure which one, so cant answer the questions. --Drono (talk) 06:28, 16 April 2021 (UTC)
Links to other pages
Hi Egarthur, welcome and thanks for your contributions so far. In the Mission quest pages you are making, I like the fact that you are including lots of links to other Wiki pages in the text. However, it is not necessary to link multiple times to the same article. For example, if Bilbo Baggins is mentioned 20 times, it is not necessary (and is generally considered poor style) to link every occurrence to the Bilbo Baggins article. Linking the first occurrence is sufficient (and appreciated). (More info here) --Thurallor (talk) 04:00, 19 May 2021 (UTC)
- Hi. Further to what Thurallor said, the standards for a wiki link in a quest are:
- 1. Only link the first instance of the thing/person, excluding those in the quest infobox. For example, only link Bilbo the first time, in the objective area. You can have a second link to something/someone in the walkthrough area if it seems appropriate for the instructions or guide.
- 2. Only link things in the quest objectives or in the walkthrough. The standard is not to link things that are in the words spoken, background comments, intro text or associated text. For example if the object is find a certain hobbit and the associated action says Bilbo may be in the woods, do not link Bilbo. In this case I would link certain hobbit to Bilbo in the objective.
- 3. If there is an NPC with a substantial speaking part in the quest, but is not mentioned in objectives, you can link their name the first time it appears, for example - Elrond says, "bla bla", you could link Elrond. Only do this if not referenced in an objective.
- 1. Only link the first instance of the thing/person, excluding those in the quest infobox. For example, only link Bilbo the first time, in the objective area. You can have a second link to something/someone in the walkthrough area if it seems appropriate for the instructions or guide.
- You are doing a good job in capturing the essence of the missions and we appreciate the work. See Chapter 1 for how I applied these rules over your original capture.
- The intention of the quest text is to closely match the game, without the distractions of coloured wiki links, as colours are also used there for different quest purposes. I have updated Boilerplate:Quest with these guidelines. Noddi (talk) 23:52, 24 May 2021 (UTC)

Quest chains for Gundabad missions
Hey Egarthur, what should we do about the quest chains for the missions that are required for the Zhélruka Allegiance quests? Logically these missions belong to two quest chains -- Gundabad Missions and Allegiance: Clan of the Zhélruka. There was something similar in the Elderlade missions, and I chose to combine everything into one quest chain (War of Three Peaks Missions) with a subsection at the end: Reputation-gated quests. We could do the same in Gundabad Missions, or we could maintain the two separate quest chains and link them both, as in Quest:On a Mission (Weekly). Thoughts? —Thurallor (talk) 22:58, 13 November 2021 (UTC)
By the way, if you want to split up the work of "de-stubbifying" the missions, let me know. But I am happy to let you do it all, you're doing a good job. —Thurallor (talk) 23:00, 13 November 2021 (UTC)
- My assumption was that the one-time Missions that are part of Allegiance quests, would just show up in the Gated Missions section of the Missions page, and the Zhélruka allegiance quests which don't have missions, would just be absent from that section. Anyone who wants to see what Allegiance quest is associated with a given gated mission can just look at the Quest Chain section of the mission quest page.
- Yes, I agree, but these missions in particular belong to two quest chains. Example: Quest:Mission: The Zhélruka Clan, Chapter 3 — Look at the "Quest Chain" box on that page -- it says nothing about the fact that this is one of the daily Gundabad missions (Day 4). If it were not required for the Zhélruka Allegiance quest chain, it would look like this: Quest:Mission: Siege of the Rift (Instance) —Thurallor (talk) 02:49, 14 November 2021 (UTC)
- Okay, wait, I was confused. Quest:Mission: The Zhélruka Clan, Chapter 3 isn't actually a daily Gundabad mission. Never mind. —Thurallor (talk) 02:52, 14 November 2021 (UTC)

- A stickier question is what to do about the "wildcard" missions for Allegiance quests, i.e. where the quest objective is to complete any Zhélruka mission from Ausma or Hórin. I'm thinking from the Allegiance side, it can just be a link to the mission category. From the Missions side, I think it suffices to enumerate, in the repeatables subsection overview, what Allegiance quests are satisfied by any repeatable mission in the list. --User:Egarthur (November 13, 2021)

Nature's Vengeance
Hi Egarthur, no problem reverting my edit. The thing is, my Beorning level 45 does not have the skill and from searching the forums I got the (apparently outdated) information this is a level 50 skill. So I wonder if me not having the skill is a bug? Very strange. Ridingbrook (talk) 13:15, 22 October 2022 (UTC)
