Problem with updating image icon
Response to your post on Talk:Lotro-Wiki Contributors' Corner. Your text:
I'm trying to fix the skill icon for Unerring Strike. For some reason it's showing the icon for Mighty Blow. When I upload the Unerring Strike image, something weird is happening. If you look at the history at https://lotro-wiki.com/index.php/File:Unerring_Strike-icon.png, you can see that the latest version looks like Mighty Blow, even though I've uploaded the Unerring Strike image three times now. Unhelpfully, it is showing the correct icon in 2nd and 3rd items in the history, but if you revert to those versions, it continues to show the Mighty Blow icon for the current version. Strange? - For me (and others that haven't visited the File:Unerring Strike-icon.png page recently) the new icon does show correctly. The old icon automatically gets shown to you because it's still in your browser's cache. Use F5 to reload the page and it should show up correctly. This is also the case for pages that use this icon. Hopefully this helped! --Ravanel (talk) 14:09, 5 August 2017 (UTC)
- The other trick is to use the "Purge" pulldown at the top right of a page. There are multiple caches involved on the Wiki itself. Image things don't get updated immediately, but when a housekeeping job runs. The Purce option basically forces that update to happen whenever you trigger it. It also forces your browser to reload its cache.

More Discussion about Missions
I've just realized that if a character has a Gundabad mission from one day's rotation, that's completed and not turned in yet, they can turn it in, even if it's not in the next day's rotation. In other words, they don't have to wait until that mission is in the rotation again. It appears to be MC-resettable too, even though it's on the "wrong" day.
Since I don't own War of Three Peaks, I've never done missions with rotation-schedules before, so I didn't realize it would work that way. I think something should be put on the wiki about it, but
- I don't know for sure if it works the same way for Elderslade, and, if it does,
- Would it be better to put this in a general, non-faction-specific section about missions (similarly to the advice about duo missions), rather than repeating boilerplate?
For that matter, would it make sense to have a section of the Missions page, with a relatively-brief explanation about the difference between factions which have a rotating mission schedule (Gundabad and Elderslade), versus those with a fixed schedule (Bilbo, Wildwood, Kharum-ubnâr)? It may not be completely obvious to people what the " - 1", " - 2" designators are; they might think there's a way of choosing which set of missions they can do, among all that exist for a given faction.
What would be even cooler, if the rotation schedule is predictable, is for wiki to actually calculate what the current rotation is, at any given time. But that would require some programming, and although I have extensive programming experience, I haven't really learned the internals of wiki's codebase.
(I've often thought that would be a cool extension to the Featured Instance page too).
- I agree this would be cool. I thought it was cool enough to have actually implemented it: See {{Next available day}}. It was a lot of effort, and it worked great. Unfortunately we can't use it, because of the fact (which I only learned later) that the different servers are not in sync. What is "day 1" on one server may be "day 2" on another, and it can change every time the servers are restarted—there is no way to predict. The only remedy would be for someone to login to each server, after every restart, and recheck which day is on each server, for each quest hub that uses such a schedule. Not practical, and if it were, trying to display the info on the wiki would be very awkward/cumbersome. (I submitted a bug report to SSG requesting that they fix the situation, but I'm not hopeful.) —Thurallor (talk) 20:58, 14 November 2021 (UTC)
Any thoughts?

- I haven't done so, but i know people were gathering missions before Gundabad to turn in on update date for headstart xp, so it works the same, as long as you have any quest i think you can turn it in even if its not available for pick up that day. Also please sign your comments with

Updating Coffer lists
Do you know the URL to use to access these lists for editing?
{{CofferItemInfo|121}}

, also please put them in bottom of the page, where they belong in the timeline. - Also not sure how you managed to miss the warning banner about this user being banned, probably better to ask at the template page or if you have general question like this, also a good place is discord.
- About the question itself, i'm not sure what lists you mean - the template can be edited here {{CofferItemInfo}} however the items are not listed there. Those are on the Coffer pages, for example Item:Coffer of Adventurer's Jewellery - Might (Rare)
