Bestowal Dialogue

A New Post
"Raphûz invited you to speak with him after you assisted him."

Background

Raphûz wants to thank you for your aid and again invites you to sit with him for a discussion and a smoke.

Objective 1

  • Approach Raphûz's fire

Raphûz is waiting for you to speak with him.

Raphûz calls as you approach, 'Come, my friend. Sit with me.'

Objective 2

  • Sit with Raphûz
  • Listen to Raphûz's story

Raphûz made his way to the fireside and invited you to sit.

Raphûz says, "Thank you for your assistance. I am indebted, really."
Raphûz says, "They always told the same story of their first meeting. My mother worked in my grandfather's stall selling rugs. My father delivered the materials used to weave the rugs."
Raphûz says, "They said they knew from the moment their eyes met their love was destined."
Raphûz says, "As a boy, I found the story very dramatic. They would always smile and kiss after telling it. They loved each other dearly."
Raphûz says, "My grandfather did not think my father a suitable match for my mother. His missing arm and being a refugee left him to distrust my father's intentions."
Raphûz says, "When I was born, however, that changed. I was the only boy born to my grandfather's daughters and I would inherit his business."
Raphûz says, "Fate is cruel. As were the priests of the All-seeing Eye. Smoke?"

Objective 3

  • Share a smoke with Raphûz
  • Wait for the conversation to end

Raphûz invited you to partake in his smoking device. Perhaps you should smoke your own pipe.

Raphûz says, "My grandfather, having no sons or grandsons to send to the army, was conscripted. He was too old and did not survive long."
Raphûz says, "The Heirs took his livelihood and drove my entire family into financial ruin."
Raphûz says, "My parents were never bitter or saddened and always made life fun."
Raphûz says, "They were magnificent people. Their dream of returning to Shagâna instilled in me a desire to see this land and follow through on their dreams."
Raphûz says, "I have so much fear. Taking this post was a step I never thought I could."
Raphûz says, "Yet, here I am. Thanks to you and your efforts, I am on a path to reclaim my father's name."
Raphûz says, "Mayhaps I shall overcome my fear of boars with your aid."
Raphûz chuckles.

Objective 4

  • Laugh with Raphûz
  • Wait for the conversation to end

Raphûz finished his statement with a hearty laugh. You should laugh with him.

You hear the sound of ruffling fabric from the shadows...
Ashâmi says, "You mewl like a boar's piglet. It is no wonder you fear a large boar."
Raphûz says, "It is you."
Ashâmi says, "Me?"
Raphûz says, "How do you know about my fear of... boars?"
Ashâmi says, "Why are you here?"
Ashâmi says, "No, why are so many from the north here?"

Objective 5

  • Talk with the woman and tell her why you are here
  • Wait for the conversation to end

A woman emerged from the shadows. She speaks with confidence and asks why so many from the north travel into Shagâna.

As you speak, she seems suspicious of you and Raphûz
You explain how you accompanied the expedition south to aid in stopping the rise of great evil
The woman listens quietly and then speaks
Raphûz says, "You surprised us. Please, join us. I am Raphûz, this is my friend <name>, and you are?"
Ashâmi says, "Ashâmi. I would take the deer. It is important to me."

Objective 6

  • Clear your throat to prompt Raphûz to respond with /ahem
  • Wait for Ashâmi to take her leave

The woman introduced herself as Ashâmi. She asked for the deer. Raphûz appears stunned see if you can make him respond.

Raphûz says, "I heard. It is your beloved pet if what stories I heard are true."
Ashâmi says, "Not a pet. My mother."
Raphûz says, "Your mother? I do not understand."
Ashâmi says, "You would not understand. I do not expect you to. You are not Shagâni."
Raphûz shouts, "I am half-Shagâni. My father -"
Ashâmi says, "Enough. May I take the deer?"
Raphûz says, "Yes."

Objective 7

  • Speak with Raphûz to get his reaction

Ashâmi left the fireside with the deer in tow. Raphûz watches her recede into the night.

Raphûz: 'I do not understand. What did she mean, my friend? Ah, the hour is late. I should sleep. Thank you for lending your ear again.'
