Kechel
Kechel is a Dwarven settlement or forge-hold, known only from fragmentary references in later Third Age records. Its precise location, founding, and fate are unknown.
Kechel is mentioned only indirectly in surviving Dwarven accounts, chiefly in connection with trade and craftsmanship. One record refers to wagons of unearthed stone and fine gems being sent from Zigil-jabâl to Kechel as a gift, mentioning that it possessed active forges and skilled smiths capable of working precious materials. Beyond this, no narrative of Kechel's history survives.
The exact location of Kechel is not recorded, but its association with overland waggon trade to Zigil-jabâl in the White Mountains implies that it lies within reach of established Dwarven roads relatively close by.
