Location
- At the north end of the great chasm of Nud-melek is Sudulthurkh.[5.6S, 99.2W] A steep trail winds upward to the north providing access to the eastern end of the Fanged Pit. To the east lies the route to the First Hall and to the west is access to the Second Hall and the rest of Moria. A Stable-master and a couple of guards optimistically call themselves the Sudulthurkh Outpost.

- This great course of stone offers a path to the upper caverns that could be traversed -- albeit with some difficulty -- by waggons or loaded vehicles. The path below also offer the only alternate road into Moria now that the Bridge of Khazad-dûm lies ruined.
