Using this skill applies Swordplay: Riposte to the Mariner. This effect is consumed by the next Swordplay skill.
Skill Interactions
The following Swordplay skills empower Riposte:
- Blade Shield makes this skill deal +50% Damage. It additionally makes this skill apply Debilitating Counter (requires yellow-line trait).
- Step Back makes this skill apply Enraged to the enemy target.
- Dodge makes this skill deal +50% Damage and gain +50% Critical Chance.
The following skills are empowered when they are the next Swordplay skill used after Riposte:
- Advance and Sweeping Advance deal +30% Damage.
- Advance has a up to a 100% chance to apply Stunned for 2 seconds (requires yellow-line trait).
- Marked Foes deals +20% Damage.
Trait Interactions
- The trait Enervating Counter in the Rover trait tree makes this skill apply Debilitating Counter to the enemy target when used after Blade Shield. Further ranks increase the potency of the effect by 2.5%. Using the skill Draining Strike refreshes the effect, increasing the potency by 2.5% and duration by 15 seconds.
- The trait Shocking Counterattack in the Rover trait tree makes Advance have up to a 100% chance to apply Stunned for 2 seconds when used after this skill.
- The trait Test Defences in the Duellist trait tree makes this skill tier up Critical Aim on the Mariner upon Critical hit, up to 3 stacks. Further ranks allow the effect to tier up to 5 stacks.
- The trait A Watched Pot in the Rover trait tree makes this skill reduce the active cooldown of all Haversack skills by 1 seconds upon Critical hit.
- The trait Sharpened Blades in the Duellist trait tree increases the damage of this skill by up to 10%.
Tracery Interactions
- Fore Skills Damage increases the damage of this skill by up to 16.5%.
- Swordplay Damage increases the damage of this skill by up to 11%.
Tactical Information
Riposte is one of the Mariner's weakest swordplay skills. Thrust is preferred over Riposte to lead into Advance for greater damage, and this skill is most commonly used by Blue-line Mariners to make Marked Foes deal more damage.
