Bestowal Dialogue
The River Gate
"It is not too late, my friend. Our warning will reach the Kindred with hours to spare."
Background
The haste of your errand permits no delay: the Kindred of the Coins must be warned of the approaching danger!
Objective 1
Jajax has come with you to Dâr Laja to warn the Kindred of the Coins about the approaching danger.
- Jajax: 'If by our warning we save the city, the Kindred will surely seek to reward us for our actions today, <name>. Let us hurry!'
- Galengam: 'A hostile fleet approaches? My business with the Kindred can wait!
- 'There is coin to be made, <name>!'
- Birûk: '<name>! I have not seen you since your steps brought you to Umbar-môkh. I have come aboveground to ask Khôltekh... but my errand can wait. Something troubles you?'
- You quickly tell Birûk that Nakási Wave-reaper sails a hostile fleet toward the city, and the banks of the Ikorbân River are not safe.
- 'I will delay you no longer! Tell the Kindred of the Coins what you have told me!'
- Birûk says, "The Kindred will protect us. Hurry now!"
Objective 2
Hármelak stands upon the dais in Dâr Laja.
- Hármelak: 'Your face is lined with worry, <name>. What brings you with such urgency to Dâr Laja?'
- You tell Hármelak that Nakási Wave-reaper sails a secret fleet armed with Narghâk cannons and crewed by Orcs of Mordor and soldiers of Ordâkh down the Ikorbân River. She frowns uncertainly.
- Hármelak says, "You are certain of this? You have seen this fleet?"
Objective 3
- Assure Hármelak that yes, you have seen it
Hármelak stares at you in disbelief, waiting for you to answer her question with a yes.
Objective 4
- Convince Hármelak that the river gate must be closed
Only the Kindred of the Coins can command the river gate be closed. You and Jajax must convince Hármelak to issue the order.
- Jajax says, "You must order the closing of the river gate!"
- Jajax says, "Only the Kindred of the Coins can prevent this fleet from passing the city!"
- Hármelak says, "For what reason would Nakási harm Umbar Baharbêl?"
- Hármelak says, "The hatred she bears is for Gondor."
- Jajax says, "But... it is in your power to prevent this."
- Hármelak says, "The river gate will remain open!"
- Hármelak says, "If the Song of Waves and Wind is to be the doom of Gondor, I will not stand in its way!"
- Jajax says, "How is it you know the name of this fleet, Hármelak..."
- Jajax says, "...when neither of us have spoken it aloud?"
- At a gesture from the Golden Queen, the guards encircle you
Objective 5
You and Jajax stand alone against the guardsmen in Dâr Laja.
- Jajax: 'So it is a fight, then. Fine! There are not enough of them to best both Jajax and <name>!'
- Jajax says, "This Corsair fights for Umbar, not for the usurping Kindred!"
- Temámir archers hold you at bay. You can fight no longer
Objective 6
Khôltekh has stepped through the line of Temámir archers to address you.
- Khôltekh: 'You know there is little to be gained by dying here, <name>.'
- Khôltekh lowers his voice so only you can hear him.
- 'Hármelak might have pretended she first heard the name "The Song of Waves and Wind" from you, when you visited her in her manor, but she is not as clever as she thinks herself to be. Wealth cannot buy wisdom; only experience can do that.
- 'When Azagath told us of the Song's existence, neither of us believed in it. If the Dark Lord of Mordor could not rely upon such a fleet, of what use could it be to us? But it seems Nakási has done the impossible. The Narghâk I sent her from Ashâgir will prove the difference, I think.
- 'When Gondor burns, the folk of Umbar Baharbêl will rejoice.'
Objective 7
You and Jajax have done what you could. Now it must be up to others.
- Jajax: 'Looks like this is it, <name>.
- 'We have to put our faith in Daxamat now.'
- Hármelak says, "Seize them."
