The Lesson of the Flames
"We will teach our enemies the danger of harnessing the Hungry Fire!"
Background
Together with Belondor and Rothog, you and Jajax are determined to destroy the Narghâk weapons on two of the ships of the Song.
Objective 1
- Talk to Jajax on the dock
You have come with Jajax, Rothog, and Belondor to destroy the Narghâk weapons used by the Song.
- Jajax: 'I have overheard the speech of our enemies, <name>, and learned the names of their ships. The Ordâkhai ship Kosagháti is moored nearby. The Orc-ship Grishúlvosh lies at the end of this dock.
- 'You need not commit those names to your memory, for they will not long matter! We will teach their captains the lesson of the flames: that he who sets a fire may be the one who burns!'
- Jajax says, "We will handle the Ordâkhai, Belondor. You and Rothog can take the Orc-ship!"
- Belondor says, "It will be done!"
- Rothog says, "Hahahahaha!"
- Jajax says, "Attack!"
Objective 2
If you tamper with the Narghâk weapons aboard the Ordâkhai ship Kosagháti, you should be able to prevent their further use.
- Jajax says, "Destroy the Narghâk weapons, but be sure to get clear!"
- Narghâk weapons aboard the Kosagháti rendered unusable (4/4)
Objective 3
- Stand by Jajax and decide your next course
You have successfully disabled the Narghâk weapons aboard the Ordâkhai ship Kosagháti.
- Jajax says, "Hahaha! Those weapons have burned out!"
- Jajax says, "What was that?!"
Objective 4
Something has happened to the Orc-ship Grishúlvosh. Jajax demands your attention.
- Jajax: 'That explosion came from the direction of Grishúlvosh!'
- Jajax says, "Belondor and Rothog may be in danger! Follow me!"
- Jajax says, "Oh no..."
Objective 5
Rothog grieves beside his fallen comrade.
- Rothog: 'I was too late, <name>... too late to save him.'
- Rothog looks up from his fallen comrade, the half-troll's own body singed and crackling in the heat.
- 'I battled the captain of this ship in combat while Belondor went to disable the Narghâk weapons. Something went wrong... the Hungry Fire...
- 'The Orcs knew our purpose here, and set a trap for us. They damaged the mechanism of the Narghâk weapons, and when Belondor...'
- Rothog bares his fangs at you.
- 'After the explosion, I ran into the flames and carried Belondor out of the inferno... but it was too late. He completed his mission, but he has left us.'
- Rothog says, "Gondor means nothing to me."
- Rothog says, "But Belondor did not want it to burn."
- Rothog says, "You must tell the King of Gondor he cannot fail."
- Rothog says, "On this day he must honour my friend Belondor with victory."
