Bestowal Dialogue
Master Architect Gori Stonesetter waits for you under the ancient arches on the bank of the River Kibil-nâla. He is determined to examine the ruins, built by an ancestor of his, no matter the danger of crumbling bridges or lurking enemies.
Background
Gori Stonesetter needs protection so that he might see for himself the ruins of the ancient buildings and bridges his ancestors helped build.
Objective 1
Gori waits for you by the side of the River Kibil-nâla.
- Gori Stonesetter: 'See those pillars there? An ancestor of mine built them ages past! She left detailed journals of her time here. Sadly, the pages of the journal are as crumbled as the ruins, but I hope to learn more here. The stone of this valley has stood for many thousands of years.'
Objective 2
Gori continues his way through the ruins, too distracted to notice any imminent danger.
- Gori Stonesetter says, "Can say with some confidence that those there statues are... dwarves."
- Gori Stonesetter says, "Look at this! Thousands of years and the steps remain strong! Solid work!"
- Gori Stonesetter says, "Look at the detailing - edges still sharp. The arches still soar high above!"
Objective 3
- Talk to Gori on the bridge
Gori has paused to speak with you before the next set of stairs.
- Gori Stonesetter: 'Khur Azan - the Dim-crossing. Built over two thousand years ago, and now here we are! A testament to our mastery over the valley. Look at these arches and the detailing. Our ancestors were comfortable enough and had time enough to build grandly. This is no simple bridge over the Kibil-nâla, but a grand testament to the power and abilities of the builders.'
Objective 4
- Follow and protect Gori as he investigates the ruins
- Gori Stonesetter says, "Come, let us continue.'
- Gori Stonesetter says, "What a sight this must have been! I would wager three trolls could jump up and down on this bridge without even causing it to tremble."
- Gori Stonesetter says, "Hmmm, what is that? A plaque? Let us get a closer look.'
Objective 5
- Talk to Gori by the plaque
- Gori Stonesetter: 'Fundin's Steps. My ancestor spent much time working on this staircase. She wrote that she worked under the great stoneworker, King Fundin II. Landslides left the already ancient paths to Atrad-zarakh too perilous to safely traverse. They carved the stairs from the very bedrock itself!'
Objective 6
- Follow and protect Gori as he investigates the ruins
- Gori Stonesetter says, "Let us climb."
- Gori Stonesetter says, "Bah, we must rid this area of the enemy for good!"
Objective 7
Gori is catching his breath after the battle and motions you over to talk with him.
- Gori Stonesetter: 'My ancestor was close with Fundin’s widow, Vigdis. She wrote that the queen’s beard turned white when news of the king’s death reached her. Perhaps it was from grief, perhaps it was from having to take over the duties of ruling until their son, Kalin VI the Young, came of age in 501.'
- Completed: Instance: Ruins of the Ancestors
- Gori Stonesetter: 'I do believe I could spend decades just marvelling at the details here. But come, let us return to Amdân before more of the enemy comes looking for their friends.'
