Bestowal dialogue

Upon the plains of the Firienfeld at Dunharrow, the people of Kingstead have at last found shelter. Yet at the edge of the Dimholt, a sudden wave of dread flows over Éowyn and her people.

Background

Objective 1

Éowyn can be found on the Firienfeld at Dunharrow.

You have arrived at Dunharrow, and now Éowyn wishes to speak with you.

Éowyn: 'Hail, <name>.
'We met with no resistance on our journey, and I believe I have you to thank for that.
'I would like to speak with you in private. The people will manage on their own for now, I am certain.'

Objective 2

  • Walk with Éowyn
  • Éowyn must not be defeated

Éowyn is walking near the edge of Dimholt at Dunharrow.

You should walk with Éowyn.

Éowyn says, "Ah, at last, Dunharrow! We have made it!"
Éowyn says, "Your efforts in the Harrowdale afforded us a swift and safe journey."
Éowyn says, "You have my thanks, <name>."
Éowyn says, "For my part, I have set the people on building up our shelter..."
Éowyn says, "...for there remain many from the Westfold who have yet to rally here."
Éowyn says, "Their work shall take some time, so let us walk."
Éowyn says, "I wished not to alarm the people, but I must speak plainly..."
Éowyn says, "I believe we are being watched, <name>."
Éowyn says, "We must discover what lurks beyond the trees."
Éowyn says, "Long have I known the tale of the Men who live under the Dwimorberg..."
Éowyn says, "...but never have they ventured from their dark paths."
Éowyn says, "Still... I fear something watches us nearby."
Éowyn says, "These stones... never have I been within the Dimholt."
Éowyn says, "I know not what we will find, so ready your wits."

Objective 3

  • Talk with Éowyn
  • Éowyn must not be defeated

Éowyn is standing outside Dimholt at Dunharrow.

You should talk to Éowyn.

Éowyn: 'Are you ready to venture into the Dimholt, <name>?'

Objective 4

Éowyn is inside the Dimholt.

You should explore the Dimholt and discover what lurks nearby.

Éowyn says, "The canopy smothers the light, and we must not be caught unawares."
Éowyn says, "Naught but the creaking of branches, <name>."
Éowyn says, "Perhaps I was mistaken..."
Éowyn says, "Wait -- what is that?"
A pale figure stands in the distance...
Éowyn says, "We have been ambushed, <name>!"

Objective 5

  • Pursue the pale figure through the Dimholt
  • Éowyn must not be defeated

The pale figure has fled deeper into the Dimholt.

You should pursue it.

Éowyn says, "Swiftly now! We cannot let it escape!"
Éowyn says, "Are these the Orcs you spoke of"
Éowyn says, "Queer, indeed, that they would think the Dead an ally of any..."
Éowyn says, "I hear more! Slay them all!"
'Éowyn says, "We must press on!"
'Éowyn says, "Ah! There remains no place to run, Orc!"
The Orc stands waiting outside the Dark Door

  • Éowyn must not be defeated

Ur can be found outside the Dark Door.

You have cornered the Orc and should now defeat it.

Ur says, "You should never have disturbed the Dead!"
Éowyn says, "Orc, your disguise makes no fool of me!"
Ur says, "You did that yourself, Woman!"
Ur says, "We shall slay your people to the last..."
Ur says, "...just as you would have done to us!"
Ur says, "S-stay back! Stay away from me!"
Éowyn says, "Nay! Run no further, <name>."
Éowyn says, "The Orc will find no shelter there."
Éowyn says, "As it was with Baldor of old, those paths lead to naught but death."
Frantic screams echo from the Paths of the Dead

  • Éowyn must not be defeated

Éowyn can be found outside the Dark Door in the Dimholt.

'Dunharrow shall once again be a haven for the people of Rohan, and my people will remain free of the Enemy's grip.
'Let us not tarry long here, <name>, for this place fills me with dread.'
Éowyn: 'My people are safe, <name>. Let us return to them.'
