Walkthrough & Notes

Elskur is sitting next to a Dirt Mound on a hilltop in eastern Azanulbizar [66.8N, 131.8W] To find the buried necklace: Go to Mekhem-bizru [11.5S, 78.5W], the first camp in Lothlórien outside of Moria. Ride along the shore to [13.0S, 77.2W]. Swim east across the Mirrormere to the opposite shore. You can jump up onto shore right at the edge at [12.3S, 76.0W] Ascend the slope from the shore, sticking to the right side of the path and find the slope that descends down to the first bridge. Cross two bridges one at [13.4S, 75.1W], the other at [13.4S, 73.9W]. Follow the path to the left up through the snowy hills and trees to the necklace at [12.4S, 74.2W]. You should be able to target it with the selection key and it will show as a burial spot.

Bestowal Dialogue 'Have you seen Elskur? He was asking after you. Did he find you? No? Perhaps you could go and see what he's about? He was due back some time ago.' Background A token of love, buried in war and forgotten by time. Objective 1 Talk to Elskur Elskur can be found in eastern Azanulbizar. Talk to Elskur. Elskur: 'Ah, Hermáth. There you are. Listen, friend. I have a favour to ask of you. I have buried a necklace here for my wife. If... if something were to happen to me, would you dig it up and bring it to her? Tell her that I am sorry for the words I said when we parted?' 'Of course,' you say. 'Thank you, my friend. I should have given her the necklace before I left. She would have loved this view. Perhaps I shall return here with her one day, and this promise I ask of you will have been for naught. 'Tell Sárgo I shall return shortly, will you? I think I will take in this view for a bit longer.' Objective 2 Participate in the war of Azanulbizar The battle for Azanulbizar will take place before the gates of Moria. You should take part in the battle for Azanulbizar. Objective 3 Speak with Hersegg Hersegg can be found in Akrâz-zahar. You should ask Hersegg about the necklace Elskur buried for his wife. Hersegg: 'Elskur, Elskur... let me think. Oh! Oh yes, I do remember now. Grandfather often spoke of him. He was one of the Burned, sadly.' You ask her about the necklace. 'Why no, grandfather never mentioned going back for that. I imagine that it could still be there!' Objective 4 Search for the buried necklace The necklace can be found in the mountains east of the Mirrormere in Dimrill Dale. You should look for the buried necklace. It's still here! After all these years! Objective 5 Bring the necklace to Hersegg Hersegg can be found in Akrâz-zahar. You should bring the necklace to Hersegg. Hersegg: 'How lovely this is! His wife was a woman of fine tastes and she would have loved this dearly. She joined her husband years ago, however. Their daughter Elgun, however, lives here in Erebor.' Objective 6 Bring the necklace to Elgun Elgun can be found in Erebor. You should bring the necklace to Elgun. Elgun: 'Well met. I am indeed Elgun.' You hand her the necklace and tell her its story. She holds it gently, a look of sad wistfulness on her face. 'Thank you for bringing this back to our family. My mother never doubted he loved her. I never got to meet my father, but now I have a piece of him, and of their love.'
