Zimoon's Examples
Below is Zimoon's 2 examples. They are done in raw HTML to get across the deeper changes necessary for avoiding doubling area names and so on, the fight will be how to best express settlements, hence two examples:

PS: I did not bother ordering areas alphabetically ;) -- Zimoon 03:02, 3 April 2012 (EDT)
- PPS: The above could easily go into all regions, if it is important here I guess it is (almost) equally important wherever. Zimoon 03:05, 3 April 2012 (EDT)

Ok, There's how I would do it... I realize that the "Settlements" issue is a separate one, but that is why I Included them in Landmarks, which they are also.
(Changed colors just for the halibut

- We cannot hide settlements, they are for most players the hub while doing certain areas. Even if we emphasize them within the landmarks I believe that is not the way to move forward. We could fiddle with the looks but not take them away. Zimoon 14:34, 3 April 2012 (EDT)
- And I hope the green is just your way of joking, right? -- Zimoon 14:40, 3 April 2012 (EDT)
Yes... as I said, just for the Halibut! (celebrating St. Paty's day late?)-- interesting problem with The Great River -- There is really only one "Settlement" but there are several quest hubs. Haldirith in Thinglad, for example has fewer "features" than Etheburg in the Brown Lands, and probably the same number as Parth Celebrant, which is both the name of the Area and a "location" - POI. The quest hubs in The Great River are basically the "areas.
BTW. The "Ent Grove" is what shows up in the Explorer Deed, and I think when you first enter, but the Radar name is "Limlight Glade." Wm Magill - Valamar - OTG/OTC (talk) 15:44, 3 April 2012 (EDT)
Ok, bolded those locations which have "services" in each area. (and added Parth Celebrant to itself. Is blue better?Wm Magill - Valamar - OTG/OTC (talk) 16:10, 3 April 2012 (EDT) ---

Some different colors. Wm Magill - Valamar - OTG/OTC (talk) 16:22, 3 April 2012 (EDT)
- I added some unofficial locations in italic in the previous example. RingTailCat (talk) 16:38, 3 April 2012 (EDT)

Obviously, a lot of information is missing, but this is the general idea I was thinking of. Uzekh (talk) 17:52, 3 April 2012 (EDT)

- Hey, now we are talking! This one is pretty good I think, settlements are a column per area. At least I understood it right away, but on the other hand I have been in the discussion for over a day now :)
- We need no rush but this is definitely a jump forward. Thanks!

- Tentatively we move the discussion over to Template talk:Region Navigation Box for the more serious and final discussions. IMHO Uzekh's suggestion is my favourite so far, but needs some polishing. Another question is whether to drop the template/parameter style and just provide a boilerplate, but let's discuss that over at the "official" talk-page, right? -- I don't dare move this since it is RTC's property ;)
