The instance takes the shape of a 4-way intersection, in the south, with a circular section, in the north. The entrance is on the extreme south. The location of the boss, and where the chest and scout appears, is on the extreme north central part of the circular area. See diagram.
The circular area has a pit in the middle, filled with noxious liquid. Falling down there will result in a death by misadventure.
There are shrines and nameless creatures throughout the area, with a heavy concentration of both in the boss-summoning area. Some of the shrines in the instance respawn.
Once the necessary number of shrines have been destroyed and nameless defeated, the boss (Uknad, She Who Feeds) will appear in the boss area. During the boss fight, an impenetrable barrier appears (similar to the Askâd-mazal boss fight) at the junction of the circle, and the north-south hallway. If the player is defeated during the boss fight, this barrier persists, so it will be necessary to reset the instance.
The mobs in this instance, even the boss, have a nasty habit of falling down into the pit, if they are kited or range-pulled around the circle too sharply. Moving laterally while a creature is pathing around the circle also seems to increase the chance of a falldown. If a creature falls down into the pit, then this is not fatal to the creature, but may make them unattackable, yet leave the player character "in combat", which, among other things, means the rewards chest can't be looted. When a falldown occurs,
the creature may go into "anti-exploit" mode and eventually reset,
in chronic cases, the whole instance may need to be reset.
To minimize the chance of a falldown, it is advisable to always have solid ground continuously along line-of-sight to a creature, if using ranged attacks against it.
As a strategy, one might consider, when first entering the circle,
making a quick tally of the mobs and shrines available in each direction (clockwise and counter-clockwise) and
assessing whether the concentration of mobs in the boss area are too much to handle with "broken legs" (from jumping down from the cliff, in the absence of something like BurglarSafe Fall, or Fall Injury Immunity) and while re-summoning a companion (if Lore-master or Captain); it is advised to dismiss and re-summon, since jumping down with the companion will cause it to path around the circle and aggro multiple mobs.
When tallying the number of shrines in the clockwise direction, one may want to omit any shrines in the boss area which are in the 2 shrine "slots" closest to the cliff wall, since using these ones will most likely aggro mobs at the top of the cliff.
If there aren't enough in the clockwise direction to satisfy the quest objectives, consider defeating some mobs and/or destroying some shrines, in the counter-clockwise direction, before proceeding clockwise. Or, just go around completely counter-clockwise and take one's chances with the jump-down.
After completing your objectives, there is a limited time (2 minutes) before you will be automatically ejected from the instance. You need to find and open the "Mission Reward" chest before this happens. Defeating more enemies does not reset the timer!
