- Witch-king of Angmar says, "You will know worse things than Death in the Chamber of the Eye!"
- Dernhelm says, "It is nothing to me. Still I will hinder you! "
- Witch-king of Angmar says, "Say you so? No living man may hinder me!"
- Dernhelm says, "But no living man am I. You look upon a woman!"
- Dernhelm says, "Éowyn I am, daughter of Éomund! You stand between me and my lord and kin."
- Dernhelm says, "Begone, if you be not deathless."

- Théoden says, "Even in... their mighty company... I will not now be ashamed..."
- Meriadoc Brandybuck says, "Forgive me for breaking your command, my lord..."
- Théoden says, "It is forgiven. When you sit in peace... with your pipe... think of me!"
- Théoden says, "But where is Éomer? He must be... king after me."

- Éomer says, "We will weep when his mound is raised."
- Éomer says, "Gléowine! You will make a song of the dead, so they will never be forgotten!"
- Éomer says, "Théoden King..."
- Éomer says, "Déorwine..."
- Éomer says, "How can this be? Éowyn?"
- Éomer says, "Éowyn, how came you to be here? What devilry is this?"
