Quest Text

Bestowal dialogue 'Where...where is Ránmald, stranger? I must...speak with her. She must heed my last wish!' Aldstan does not look well; it will not be long before he is gone. Background Aldstan is declining fast, despite everyone's best efforts to staunch his wounds. Aldstan says, "Ránmald, where...where are you, my child?" Objective 1 Talk to Ránmald Ránmald is in the refugees' cave north of Byre Tor. You should speak with Ránmald. Ránmald: 'Do you no longer see me, kind one? I am here, I am here! 'Aldstan, what is it you wish to tell me?' Ránmald says, "I am here, dear one! I have not left your side." Objective 2 Hear Aldstan's last wish Aldstan is in the refugees' cave north of Byre Tor. You should speak with Aldstan. Aldstan: Aldstan speaks to Ránmald in a fading voice: 'Dear girl...you have been a daughter to me, ever since my son brought you home to us. 'I know you have not taken to our rough way of life. I know you do not keep many friends outside of my family. 'I beg you for the sake of my grandchild...do not be alone! you must survive, and the child that grows in you must survive. My dear... you must learn to get along with the others.' Objective 3 Hear Ránmald's words to Aldstan Ránmald is in the refugees' cave north of Byre Tor. You should speak with Ránmald. Ránmald: 'I... I will try. I wish you would not leave me, but I will do my best. My child will make you a proud grandfather!' Objective 4 Try to rouse the Thane Aldstan is in the refugees' cave north of Byre Tor. You should speak with Aldstan. Aldstan: Aldstan's breath slows, and he grows still. The Thane of Byre Tor is dead, following his son to a wintry grave. The Thane does not respond
