Bestowal dialogue

'Hereswith was devastated at the funeral earlier, and I imagine she is having a hard time today. Please check on Hereswith, who is now the widow of Edsig.'

Background

One of the three widows is Hereswith. She cannot fathom life without her husband, Edsig, who fell in the battle at Forlaw's gate. However, she must find a way to go on as she is now raising their two daughters, Lúba and Sigburga, alone.

Objective 1

Hereswith is inside Edsig's house, near the stables and centre of Forlaw. Hereswith is trying to stay busy with household tasks, and not focus on the events of the day.

Hereswith: 'Forlaw has lost too many good men of late. My husband was one of those men. Edsig, and his twin brother Gárferth, were beloved by this town. They protected Forlaw in the battle at the gate, but fell to that seemingly indestructible giant.
'Please pay respect to my husband. Edsig loved his brother, and would do anything for him. It is a fitting tribute since Gárferth was always Edsig's protector. Pease take Gárferth's shield and place it one Edsig's grave.'

Objective 2

Gárferth's shield is kept in the bedroom of Edsig's home.

Objective 3

  • Place Gárferth's shield at Edsig's grave

The path to the graveyard of Forlaw is just outside Forlaw's southern gate.

Objective 4

  • Completed

Respects have been paid to Edsig.

You have paid your respects to Gárferth, Edsig, and both of their families. Hereswith will appreciate your help
