All progress is retained on defeat, or if leaving and re-entering the mission. Mobs that have the Enraged corruption, will retain it.
Berserkers, with either the Aggressive or Inspirational stance, appear in this mission, as in others. See Mission: Standards of Khazad-dûm (Instance) Walkthrough for more details.
Although not listed as a Twist for the mission, the Pûlpum Stone-keeper has an Twist: Inspiring Presence buff, which, in turn, buffs his nearby allies. The Pûlpum Stone-keeper does not appear to have Twist: Raging.
Each Orc defeated awards 1 trinket, with the exception of the Pûlpum Stone-keeper, who awards 4.

'Your mission is to recover trinkets stolen from the Dwarves of the Iron Garrison.'

Despite the failure of the Iron Garrison, the dwarves will not allow the Orcs of Khazad-dûm to spill forth into Azanulbizar, the Dimrill Dale.
