Update 13 update log

  • Scope:
Update 13, The Breaking of Isengard has had 3 areas "revised" --
  • The Misty Mountains - Faratalath has started a bit of the work to do, also Eteocles
  • The North Downs - untouched by me
  • The Trollshaws - mostly done - Tharondir is working on this

To Do

A quick summary of what work needs to be done for each area: (There are probably more things).

  1. Create new quests
  2. Modify any cross reference pages listing Quests, typically found on specific location pages, or possibly individual NPC pages.
  3. Verify/update existing Travel locations
  4. Add new Travel Locations and Stable-masters
  5. Update Stable-master pages
  6. Update NPC "quest" involvement information
    These should probably all become transclusions of individual category pages, and those category pages may need to be created.
  7. Consider how to re-organize quest passing, as the revisions now provide more "sequenced" quest "hand-off" now than in the past.
  8. Update the tasks in the areas concerned (Farat)
  9. Look at the overall difference in quest-levels for the area, and how that affects the 1-50 level flow (and other overviews). (Farat)

Done

  1. I have added some?all? of the new travel points in the Trollshaws to the individual locations. I have not updated any of the various cross references -- like the Stable-master page.
    To do that update will require "Creating" or "Re-doing" individual NPCs as Stable-masters who are undefined and therefore can't be transcluded.
    Barachen's Camp - create a Stable-master
    North Trollshaws - re-do Thoroniel as a Stable-master
  2. I have created a bunch of new quests. Mostly the daily Reputation repeatables. However, there are still more to be added (I haven't followed all of the threads) and those quests all need to be cross indexed wherever those indexes are. I did create a partial listing of those on the Category: Trollshaws Quests page.
  3. Faratalath: I have started on an overview for the Misties Quests. However, I won't have that much time in the coming few weeks so my work will proceed slowly. Therefore, if anyone's interested, go ahead with the Misties revamp! Do please contact me ;)
Someone needs to both verify what I have done and pick up any of those I have missed -- for instance I have only found one Rep quest for Thorin's Hall, but 10 for Elves of Rivendell.
This needs to include dealing with all of the cross indexes which Zimoon created that I do not understand (i.e. have any idea where/what they are).
I am nearing completion on the Trollshaws revamp. See User:Tharondir/Trollshaws for details.
I will try to do the North Downs next, but I also have other projects happening, so I'm not sure when I will get to it. --Tharondir (talk) 15:07, 22 June 2014 (UTC)
Eteocles has been working on the Misty Mountains also, see User:Eteocles/Misty Mountain Quests (Update 13). Is anyone doing the North Downs quests? I can help with that region. -Laineth (talk) 18:54, 21 August 2014 (UTC)
