Haerondir Gladhir [105] Bane of the Serpent There are two entrances to Dûm Boha: one at the second level of Haerondir [36.9S, 7.9W] and one off the plain behind Hareondir [36.1S, 6.5W] (the "main entrance"). If you first obtain the Bane of the Serpent from Gladhir in Haerondir and then proceed into Dûm Boha via the path behind him, you will receive the landscape quests below as you enter the camp. If you enter Dûm Boha from the "main entrance" off the plain behind Hareondir, you will get all quests bestowed as you enter. The entrance to Carchost [36.1S, 1.4W] The entrance to Skoironk [36.0S, 4.8W] As you enter Carchost, about 10 feet ahead on your left is a "Gondorian Artifact" which begins the Quest: Foundation of Artifacts this quest is needed to unlock the solo resource instances.

Quest Text

Bestowal dialogue 'I tell you, <name>, I have wondered whether I were going mad. I would track an Orc Captain climbing the nearby eastern hills, only to lose track of him. Then, as if by some sorcery, I would espy him far west, where I should surely have seen him pass. 'The riddle has evaded me until now. The maggot-holes must communicate in tunnels deep beneath these midden-heaps, and access fundaments beneath the Towers of the Teeth, as well. It is the only answer! 'Will you investigate? Find a way into Carchost and discover what pathways lie below. 'Ah, but I forget myself. You should speak with Candúr before you go.' Background Thurindol believes that there are even more enemies beneath the Slag-hills and asks of you to investigate. Objective 1 Talk to Candúr Candúr can be found at a small Ranger outpost hidden in the Slag-hills. You should talk to Candúr before you depart. Candúr: 'You are going beneath Carchost, then? I am glad you are willing to help us in this. It will be dangerous, but for this task I have faith in none so much as you! Fortune smile on you. We will speak again, I am sure of it.' Objective 2 Talk to Thurindol Thurindol can be found at a small Ranger outpost hidden in the Slag-hills. You should talk to Thurindol. Thurindol: '<name>, you honour the name Ranger with your bravery and commitment to Gondor. We shall see you again soon. This deed you undertake will not go unremembered by my order. I will see to it.' Objective 3 Enter Carchost Enter Skoironk Find the entrance to Carchost Find the entrance to Skoironk Carchost and Skoironk are located in the Slag-hills. You should find the entrances and enter Carchost and Skoironk. Objective 4 Talk to Thurindol You should return to Thurindol, who can be found at a small Ranger outpost hidden in the Slag-hills. Thurindol: 'If what you relate is true, why then an entire army hides in wait below the ground! We know full well that overwhelming odds stand locked behind the Morannon. But we shall not face those until the ordained time of battle, according to Lord Aragorn's plan.' 'What i this nether army poured forth to accost us before that time? What last bleam of hope might be lost if my Lord's plan faltered? No, it is clear. We must do somehing if we may... whatever we may.'
