Walkthrough & Notes

This side objective has a time limit of about 5 minutes. There is a road north of the starting area that branches off the primary pathway between the major defensive formations during the final wave. It is blocked until you receive this side objective, after which the barricades become destructible. Much of the merit gain will come from disarming traps and barricades, though you do NOT need to destroy them all. In addition to this, several enemies will block your path on the way to the Uruk Bosses. An important aspect of completing this in time is to be disarming traps while fighting enemies. You can continue to use skills while disarming traps/barricades as long as you don't move. As a result, ranged classes will find this a fairly easy quest to complete. Notes An Engineer specialization is highly recommended for this to significantly decrease the dismantling time. The tripwires in particular can be rather tricky to see. Watch out for them less you be stunned unnecessarily. You only need to kill the Uruk Bosses before time runs out to complete the objective; a good strategy is to rush through two bosses and make way for the third before disabling more traps. It should be noted that though barricades take the longest to dismantle, requiring four uses, they offer the most merit. Likewise debris piles offer a generous amount of merit for only a few quick extinguishes. Disabling 24 traps and the 3 barricades required to reach the three bosses is enough to get Platinum on solo/duo difficulty. Further testing needs to be done to establish a minimum number needed.

Quest Text

Background The time has come to prepare for the final charge of the Glittering Caves. Dismantle the barricades and traps and clear the camps that the enemy has set up along the cave leading back out to the Deeping-coomb. Objective Defeat all Uruk bosses that guard the exit from the Glittering Caves (0/4) Before they gather for another assault Dismantle barricades, disable traps, and defeat the Uruk bosses set up on the path to the exit from the Glittering Caves. Merit Rating This quest starts with empty Merit Rating. Moderate Merit Gain Burning Debris Pile extinguished Barricade destroyed Minor Merit Gain Trap disarmed
