Walkthrough & Notes

Objective 2 auto-progresses to Objective 3 and on to Objective 4, without any interaction from the player. You have a choice here. You may choose not to move at all, after sending Celeblír down the ramp to lure the goblins away. Eventually the goblins will despawn, near the top of the ramp (fairly close to where you are standing). During this time, Celeblír will wander far enough away that you'll miss some of his dialogue. Feel free to go get a snack, imbibe your favorite beverage, whatever you wish, and once you're at Objective 3, start searching the rocks and/or snowpiles. If, however, you do choose to move before the initial set of 5 goblins have despawned, then, even if you haven't spoken to Celeblír yet, getting too close to the goblins will fail the mission. Upon failure, the mission will restart automatically, after a short delay. In Objective 3, there are numerous piles of snow and rocks to search. If you showed mercy in Chapter 6, you will know which rock/snowpile contains the key. No spoilers here -- be merciful! If, however, you have forgotten what you were told, Spoiler Alert it is the rock which is closest to the lake and closest to the gate. Searching the wrong rock or snowpile will spawn a new group of 4 goblins. Despite what Celeblír claims, the (re-)appearance of the goblins is not time-based. Dying to the spawned goblins will *not* cause them to despawn or reset. When you re-enter the instance, you'll need to dispatch any that remain. After completing your objectives, there is a limited time (2 minutes) before you will be automatically ejected from the instance. You need to find and open the "Mission Reward" chest before this happens. Defeating more enemies does not reset the timer!

Rewards
Upon completing the mission, you will find a "Mission Reward" chest containing: Silver pieces (level dependent) 2 to 10 Tokens of Further Adventure

Quest Text

Bestowal Dialogue 'Yes, I agree. The main gate will be the most reliable way inside Goblin-town, but we will need a distraction.' 'I think it is now my turn to accompany you on this mission, my friend. I will make certain you are able to get inside the main gate, if you promise to find our missing Baggins!'  Twist: Gated Background Bilbo has been taken to Goblin-town, and now Celeblír has a plan for getting inside. Objective 1 Talk to Celeblír Celeblír plans to cause a distraction that will let you access Goblin-town's main gate. Celeblír: 'Follow me, <name>, and stay close. You'll need some way to open the main gate to Goblin-town, but you won't be able to search for such a thing while there are goblins outside' Objective 2 Follow Celeblír to a good hiding place, avoiding detection by goblins Celeblír plans to cause a distraction that will let you access Goblin-town's main gate. Celeblír says, "We will need a distraction if you are to rescue Bilbo from Goblin-town. I will provide it!" Celeblír says, "This way, down here" Celeblír says, "Stay close to me. Don't let them see you." Celeblír says, "Perfect! The goblins wrecked this campsite!" Celeblír says, "'Why is that good for us? It means they will not check here again!" Celeblír says, "Hide here while I get their attention, <name>." Objective 3 Remain hidden while Celeblír leads the goblins away Celeblír says, "Don't come out until after I've led them away!" Celeblír says, "Once they're gone, search quickly! The longer you take, the more goblins will return!" Celeblír says, "Hey, goblins!" Goblin-town Guard says, "Get him!" Goblin-town Guard says, "Oy!" Goblin-town Guard says, "Get him!" Goblin-town Guard says, "Who's that?" Goblin-town Guard says, "Some elf!" Objective 4 Search for a spare key to the Goblin-town gate The goblins will surely have hidden a spare key to the gate somewhere outside Goblin-town. FAILURE (snowpile): You dig around in the cold snow, but find nothing FAILURE (rock): This stone does not serve to hide the spare key FAILURE (rock): You were so certain this rock would hide the key, but it did not SUCCESS: You find a spare key to Goblin-town buried in the snow beside this rock Objective 5 Unlock the gate to Goblin-town With the spare key in your possession, you can now unlock the gate to Goblin-town. The key turns in the lock. Now you can rescue Bilbo! Objective 6 Wait for Celeblír to arrive Celeblír says, "I led them on a merry chase. They will be some time returning!" MISSION COMPLETE Celeblír: 'Now that you have unlocked the gate, we should be able to rescue Bilbo!'
