- Talk to Tatháta
Tatháta has come to the fortress above Jirush.
- Tatháta says, "I was prepared to slay you when you strayed beyond the ancient wall, <name>."
- Tatháta says, "But something stayed my hand."
- Tatháta says, "It was curiosity."
- Tatháta: 'You have had ample time to act upon the widow's orders, if you sought her bounty upon us. Have I not espied you from afar in the company of Kinsman Belondor, his back turned to you at length and without fear? And when I decided on that moonlit night mere days ago to put an end to both these questions and your life, was it not the arrival of Khôltekh and Rothog that stayed my attack? I am not often surprised, <name>, but on that night your friendship with my allies was a startlement to me. No servant of Saklaphêl could deceive such as they for long.
- 'Why do you ally with the Kindred? Are we not enemies?'
- You briefly describe your shared fear that Azagath and Nakási are using a map they took from theMâkhda Khorbo to search for a buried evil of Sauron's somewhere east of Umbar. Tatháta nods slowly.

Tatháta has offered to answer a single question of yours.
- Tatháta says, "You are more free with your answers than I expected."
- Tatháta says, "But you have satisfied my curiosity."
- Tatháta says, "You have earned an answer of your own."
- Tatháta says, "Ask me a single question and I will answer it."
- Tatháta says, "One question ONLY, <name>."
- Tatháta: 'I will answer a single question. Choose your inquiry with care.'
- Why did you kill Galatâni?
- How did you become a skin-changer?
- Where is Balakhâd?
- Does Azagath serve Mordor?
- What does Nakási want?
- Tatháta listens to your question, deciding whether to answer it.
Objective 7
- Listen to what Tatháta has to say
Tatháta has agreed to answer a single question of yours.
Why did you kill Galatâni?
|
- Tatháta says, "Saklaphêl's bounty hunter?"
- Tatháta says, "She chose her target without care, <name>, and perished for it."
- Tatháta says, "The hunter must always be prepared for the prey to prove more deadly than she."
- Tatháta says, "That is the way of things in the wild."
- Tatháta says, "Make not her mistake: these lands are wild."
- Tatháta says, "To forget that is to die."
|
How did you become a skin-changer?
|
- Tatháta says, "You are bold to ask this of me, <name>!"
- Tatháta says, "I was born with another name, in another land."
- Tatháta says, "They drove me out, and I wandered in the wild for years."
- Tatháta says, "From the Long Lake to the Sea of Rhûn I voyaged, honing my skills as a mariner."
- Tatháta says, "When at last I came to Ethir Anduin I was confronted by a raiding band of Corsairs."
- Tatháta says, "They thought to take me captive."
- Tatháta says, "Instead I became their captain."
|
Where is Balakhâd?
|
- Tatháta says, "He is not still held captive by the Kindred?"
- Tatháta says, "That must please the dwarf."
- Tatháta says, "Khôltekh and Hármelak argued about what to do with the son of the Scourge."
- Tatháta says, "Balakhôr was always a problem. It seems his son remains so."
- Tatháta says, "Until he is slain, the Kindred must fear the return of the Heirs of Castamir."
- Tatháta says, "And yet Gondor must fear it too."
- Tatháta says, "The question, I think, is who must fear it more?"
|
Does Azagath serve Mordor?
|
- Tatháta says, "The Sea-shadow has always had a fascination with that land, and with artifacts of Sauron."
- Tatháta says, "Months ago he sent Khôltekh to a fortress of evil in the distant north."
- Tatháta says, "When the dwarf returned, he delivered something to Azagath."
- Tatháta says, "I know not what it was, but it could be held in one hand and exuded an aura of dread."
- Tatháta says, "And yet if Azagath served Mordor, he hid it well."
- Tatháta says, "He bore no love for the Church of the All-seeing, and has slain its agents by the score."
- Tatháta says, "So has every member of the Kindred."
|
What does Nakási want?
|
- Tatháta says, "Before the death of Tumúldo Fierce-water, she wanted Umbar to be free."
- Tatháta says, "I think that is no longer enough for her."
- Tatháta says, "Now she listens only to Azagath's promise of a mighty weapon to destroy Gondor."
- Tatháta says, "He named it The Song of Waves and Wind, but whatever it might be, it is not yet ready."
- Tatháta says, "He can delay her impatience for only so long, I think."
- Tatháta says, "If he cannot produce this mighty weapon soon, Nakási's loyalty may be tested."
- Tatháta says, "I would not wager on the victor of that contest, <name>."
|
- Distant shouting disturbs the fortress. Rahâzi's task is accomplished
Objective 8
Tatháta has answered your question, and the sound of distant shouting has brought your conversation with her to a close.
- Tatháta: 'The sands have run from the hourglass, <name>, and our conversation is ended. I am pleased I did not slay you. Your answers were most informative.
- 'Good-bye.'
Objective 9
